The Decathlon Triban Range Lights Up The Autumn Nights.

.

As the nights draw in again, all too quickly as we approach Christmas, road safety for all users comes to the fore. Decathlon has launched many new clothing items in their Triban range that serve to provide illumination and warmth. Being an active walker and outdoor activity person, Jeremy Webb tried on some of the French brand’s High-Viz and protective apparel.

Hundreds of thousands of people, since the Pandemic lockdown, have taken up outdoor pursuits they can do on their own or with company. This has led to more cyclists on the roads, runners and walkers on the pavements, all wanting quality time when they can grab it. Often this is later in the day, and as we all know, as soon as October comes around, the days are shorter, and darkness comes in quicker.

Safety is paramount any time, day or night, so you want to be seen by motorists and other people out and about. Sports brands have been superb in developing new materials and making clothing specifically to the needs of the activity being carried out.

Decathlon has launched its new cycling safety clothing within its Triban range, and I put three items through the trials of an Autumn storm. I wore all of the items while cycling, the jacket and gloves while power walking and walking the dogs. I also wore the jacket over my motorcycle jacket for the high-viz capabilities and an extra layer of warmth on an early morning ride.

There is nothing worse than being cold during any activity; well, actually, there is. Cold and wet is a real stinker, and I have had my fair share of those bad times. I now choose the appropriate clothing for the journey, be this motorcycling, walking or commuting on a bicycle.

At Road Tests and Reviews, we look to educate about many topics, the environment, health, leisure. We endorse getting outside for physical and mental health, and cycling or walking to work, school, or shopping is superb for your health and the environment.

The high-viz jacket is made from 100% recycled polyester, so environmentally friendly Even better, the recycled fabric comes with a waterproof coating to keep users dry from winter showers.
