Road Tripping Around The UK.

Lockdown has meant that the possibility of going on a trip abroad is not likely for most. The good news is that there are plenty of great places to visit in the UK; check they are not Tier 3 before your trip.

Basingstoke

Basingstoke is a contemporary and up to date town which boasts Hampshire’s most well-liked and popular shopping location. There are over one hundred and fifty shops in the lively town, and you will find all the big high street names there. If you are visiting Basingstoke, then indulge in a few hard-earned treats and enjoy a day of shopping.

Less than ten minutes away from the bustle of Basingstoke is the lovely and beautiful Queen Inn pub, so make sure you hop in your Basingstoke car rental and stop off for a pint or two or three... It is essential to either book car hire or ensure your vehicle is well-maintained before your trip. You can check out Mag wheels to get started. But back to The Queen Inn, which is a friendly pub and they serve food as well if you fancy a bite to eat. It is located in a quiet and pretty area and on a summer’s day their beer garden is heavenly. It is a typical traditional old English pub, and it possesses charm and atmosphere in profusion.

If beer and shopping do not appeal to you, then perhaps the Willis Museum will. The museum is really like experiencing your very own time travel encounter; you will witness the chief innovations that have occurred in Basingstoke over the years, from the rich to the poor, and the old to the new, it is eye-opening. It also won’t cost you a penny as admission is free, so if you have spent all your money in Basingstoke’s many shops, you need not worry.

Located approximately eight miles from Basingstoke centre is the well known Wellington Country Park. It is perfect for a day out with the family, from the nature trail maze to the enchanted forest to crazy golf; they have it all. If you are looking for a place with endless amounts of fun and amusement, this is it.

Bedford

If you are visiting the large town of Bedford, then you are in for a treat. Whilst in Bedford, there is so much to do that limiting these down to a few things is almost impossible; however, I would recommend going for a hot balloon ride over the lovely countryside. Going in a hot air balloon is a unique experience that you will never forget. If you have never done it before, then Bedford is undoubtedly an excellent place to start, with its scenic country and its picture-perfect towns and villages. The whole event will be exciting yet calming and relaxing; it is a perfect balance and a great source of enjoyment.

Another fun thing to do whilst in Bedford is to go to the world’s biggest indoor skydiving tunnel; Bodyflight. This is entirely safe, and the fun is endless, it is another great experience not to be missed. Adults and children will both love it, and you will experience a great adrenaline rush. Discover what it would be like to fly!

The River Great Ouse is one of the most beautiful river settings in the whole of England, and you can’t go to Bedford without witnessing it for yourself. You can take a walk along the river bank and settle on the side to enjoy a lovely picnic, or you can arrange a boat tour down the beautiful waters. Whatever you decide to do, you will encounter a peaceful and tranquil time in the scenic surroundings.

Hot air balloon rides, peaceful walks, and boat trips along the river, as well as indoor skydiving, are all only a mere taster of what Bedford has to offer.

Kings Cross

Kings Cross is mainly used because of its train station in the area; however, next time you are passing via train, why not stop off and experience what Kings Cross has to offer?

Here are some of the venues worth visiting in the area:

SHAW THEATRE

This theatre was named after the famous and well-known playwright George Bernard Shaw. There is frequently an array of exciting and diverse performances on and I would highly recommend you check one out whilst in the area. At the moment they have several exciting plays and alike taking place.

LONDON CANAL MUSEUM

This is the place to go if you want to learn all about the history of London’s canals. It is an interesting and exciting museum, and you are guaranteed to learn a lot you did not previously know when you visit. The museum is extremely cheap in price as well as an adult’s entrance ticket only costs four pounds, and a child’s ticket is half the price at two pounds. You can also save money by buying a family ticket for ten pounds if there is a lot of you. Please keep in mind that the museum is shut on a Monday.

THE BRITISH LIBRARY

Whether you love to read or not, the chances are that you will probably find the British Library very interesting. The building is imposing, and it is worth visiting to view its stunning architecture alone. The library opens every day at 9.30 a.m except on a Sunday when it opens at 11.00.a.m. The library closes on a Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 18.00 in the evening, on a Saturday and Sunday, it closes an hour earlier at 17.00. It stays open the latest on a Tuesday however – until 20.00.p.m.

Leicester

Leicester is a great place to visit. The best place to stay in Leicester is the Campanile hotel is it is right in the centre of the city. The car park is free of use and available for all, this is exceptionally beneficial seen as you will have a hired car. The bar and the restaurant in the hotel are also charming, and the food is delicious. The good thing about this hotel is that pets are allowed so if you want to bring your cat or dog along for the stay then you are more than welcome to.

If you are visiting Leicester, then I would certainly recommend visiting the National Space Centre. The award-winning centre is, in fact, the most significant space attraction in the whole of the United Kingdom. The place is the definition of fun learning, and children and adults alike will have a great day spent there. There is so much to see and do you literally won’t know where to look first.

Coventry

If you are lucky enough to be flying into Coventry airport and staying in the area to experience all it has to offer, then you are in for a treat. Coventry is a large town, and if you are going to visit it, you need to do it properly. The best thing to do would be to book this in advance and have a car rental at Coventry Airport ready and waiting for you, so all you have to do is merely hop into your car and enjoy the experience ahead. This will also save a lot of time and hassle. The best way to go about doing this is to go on the internet in advance of your trip and search for the best cheap car hire deals in Coventry, then book the one that suits you best.

Whilst staying in Coventry, there are a lot of things to see and do for all ages and all sorts of individuals. If you appreciate religion or have a great interest in it, or merely alike for architecture, then you will love a visit to the Cathedral, which is beautiful and something to marvel over.

There is also a great Toy Museum which is hugely enjoyable. The museum is unique, and I highly doubt you will find anywhere else as exciting and exciting as it in the whole of the United Kingdom. You can see toys dating back to as far ago as the seventeenth hundred. This really is an amazing and great place to visit, and children will love it because, of course, all children love toys. But adults will love it because, not only is it very intriguing, but it may also bring back memories of their childhood and the toys they used to play with.

All in all, Coventry is a great place to visit, so make sure you start off your trip right and organise a car from the airport.

To conclude, while we may not be able to go abroad for our usual holidays any time soon, this does not mean you cannot have an adventure. There is a lot of fun to be had across the UK, so make sure you embrace this!
