As the first major manufacturer with a fully-electric motorcycle on sale, Harley-Davidson® were excited to meet the opportunity to provide zero-emission motorcycles to Police Scotland during this historic global meeting to support the safe running of the event.

For more than 110 years, Harley-Davidson has been creating Police duty models (Police duty models). However, this is the first time the LiveWire® model has been converted to active duty to create a truly green solution for Police service.

The award-winning LiveWire®, whose high-voltage Recharge Energy Storage System (RESS) provides a minimum of 146 miles (235 km) of city range, will enable Police Scotland to react quickly, safely, and cleanly.

Superintendent Darren Faulds, Roads Policing, said: “Where possible, we have taken measures to ensure that COP26 is policed in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way.

“Our work to improve our sustainability has been enhanced thanks to the support of Harley- Davidson®, and we welcome these electric motorcycles as an addition to our existing road policing assets to help with the delivery of a safe and secure event.”

The unique, fully-electric LiveWire® fleet has been specially adapted to meet Police Scotland’s operational needs by a combination of the technical teams at Harley-Davidson Europe and our two Scottish Harley-Davidson® dealer partners in Edinburgh and Glasgow (West Coast), where the handover to Police Scotland took place on Friday, 22nd October.
