Millinery in a Marvellous Elizabethan setting.

I had the pleasure of meeting Laura Cathcart this week at her lovely home in the heart of the Shropshire countryside. Laura lives at Upton Cressett Hall an Elizabethan estate once owned by the Treasurer of Charles 1st. I was visiting to interview Laura about her Millinery business, as well as reviewing the estate which has three very special properties for rent. The full stories will be published later in the year.

Laura’s millinery business is well established and lists Princess Beatrice as a client. A recent article in the Daily Mail showcased ladies’ headwear and Laura’s beautiful designs featured prominently with Toff from I’m a Celebrity fame, another celebrity client.

Laura juggles her Millinery brand with running Upton Cressett Estate, which runs tours, hosts events and has three rental properties available through the year. I stayed in the marvellous and unique Gatehouse which is one of only two Elizabethan Gatehouses in the world that people can rent. Other famous people who have slept in the gatehouse are Margret Thatcher and Boris Johnson.
